VOODOO CHEW

One of the greatest problems with dog toys today is how quickly a dog gets bored with and destroys their toys.

This project was a collaboration between another student and myself. We set out to find a dog toy that was interesting to two parties: owners and their dogs. After analyzing consumer data and surveying over 107 dog owners, we found a few key points that are important to consumers.

when most dog toys get gross, they are thrown away because they are so difficult to clean

In order to find out what was important to the dog, we dove into research and produced function focused concepts since form was very well explored in the world of dog toys.

To cater to our chosen market of young dog owners, we chose to focus on satirical political figures. We took functional ideas from our research and brainstorming and combined them to make toys that appealed to dogs and resembled humans.

The interior of the toy is solid and the arms are hollow in order to add variety and allow the arms to pop in and out easily.

When squeezed, the arms pop out and the head pops off, leaving behind a ball.

When the head is removed, a cavity for treats is left behind to hold the dog’s attention.
